Welcome to Diss Museum - “A little jewel in Diss!”
There is something for everybody in our award-winning community museum.
Please browse through the site to find out more about us.
How to find us
We are in the centre of Diss Market Place in the old Shambles building, once a butcher’s shop. There are several car parks within walking distance.
We are pleased to announce that the Museum re-opened for 2022 on Saturday 12 March.
The Museum is run by volunteers and, without our volunteer stewards, we would not be able to do this, we are very grateful to them for their continued support.
Opening hours
As of March 2022, the Museum will be open on a Friday, Saturday and Monday, 11am to 3pm, as well as Sundays if there is an event happening in the town.
Admission is free. The Museum is wheelchair accessible.
Dear Visitors
Grand Re-Opening
We are pleased to announce that the Museum is now open for the season.
For the launch we had a re-enactment of when the Prince and Princess of Wales came to Diss in 1866. They made a ‘Royal Return Visit’, arriving by vintage car.
There are more details of the event on Diss Museum Facebook page
Change to opening days
To start we will only be opening the Museum on a Friday, Saturday and Monday, 11am to 3pm. If there are any events on in town such as the Organ Festival we will open on a Sunday as well. Hopefully, if all goes well we will be able to go back to opening every day.
