The Detectorists are back by popular demand. Our final Community Cabinet for the 2025 season is currently featuring finds from local metal detectorists.

About the event
Come along and marvel over some exquisite items including Roman and Celtic coins, a Medieval horse pendant, Saxon brooches, a jewelled stirrup ring and a beautiful gold earring.
The display are finds kindly on loan from Nick Bateman, Joe Edwards-Gill and James Dalliston who you may all know as local metal detectorists who search the fields of Norfolk for clues from the Iron Age, through to the Modern era.
Joe was inspired to start detecting by the TV comedy drama Detectorists. He loves to research his finds and learn about the history at the time they were made. Favourite finds are Roman brooches because they were worn every day by a person who lived in Norfolk about 1900 years ago.
