The museum opens for the season with new displays, as we celebrate 50 years of Diss Museum. This year, our annual parade will mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

About the event
Diss Museum doesn't just open quietly. It has become traditional to launch the new season with a parade through the town. In recent years there was a royal visit (sort of); a celebration of cinema complete with stars and starlets; and a political march where suffragettes, fascists and Labour paraded side by side.
This year, we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. It will bring out the people who love to dress up.
Expect to see forties glamour girls, spivs, and plenty of uniforms, whether worn by air raid wardens or wing commanders.
